Visited my mum and dad who are caravanning in Ingoldmells, near Skegness. While on a walk to the beach I noted various gulls and a few Sandwich Terns fishing off-shore, along with the odd migrating Painted Lady and Red Admiral butterfly coming in off the sea.

Fryston Wood, West Yorkshire – 23 August 2007
Made a visit to Fryston Wood, Castleford, through work. Although I did not have much time for wildlife spotting I did manage to see good numbers of Migrant Hawker Dragonflies and various calcareous soil loving wild flowers including Harebell, Yellowort, Common Centaury, Wild Marjoram and Hemp Agrimony.

Old Moor RSPB, South Yorkshire – 11 August 2007
Bosh, GH and myself met up at this RSPB Reserve in the Dearne Valley hoping to see the Spoonbill that had been there for the past couple of days. South Kirkby CP, West Yorkshire – 5 August 2007
I made a flying visit to this former colliery site located midway between Barnsley and Pontefract. I began with a walk around the Lower Northfield Tip area which was covered in wild flowers including Black Knapweed, Common Century, Yellowort and Birds Foot Trefoil.
